Oval Office Bar_Mixed Media Mural
Oval Office Bar, situated in Bochum, is a vibrant and inclusive spot. Nestled beneath the renowned Schauspielhaus Bochum. It offers a heartwarming array of activities, from queer karaoke and donation-based hair cutting sessions to informative evenings about endometriosis. With open doors and a warm welcome extended to individuals of all genders and ages, it truly stands out as a unique and inviting space. Affiliated with the supporting association, KosmoPolis e.V., for the queer community, this place is much more than just a bar; it’s a safe haven and a second home. For the grand reopening of the new season, I had the privilege of designing the hallway to this magnificent place. The motif was collaboratively developed with the association members, drawing inspiration from queerness and nightlife culture, resulting in a mixed media mural. This mural features hand-painted elements like clouds and leaves, alongside digitally printed representations of chains, drinks, and body parts as wallpaper adorning the walls.
